In order to help our guests when they are visiting the River North area around Mother Hubbard’s Sports Pub we present this list of our favorite places.
If you are visiting from out of town, your hotel concierge is your best guide to restaurants in the area. The qualifying question is as follows "Where is the best place that will have every sports event?" If their answer is Mother Hubbard’s Sports Pub then you can have faith that they are giving you the best recommendations.
State and Illinois 1/2 block away, local breakfast hangout, great omelet cook.
Courtyard by Marriott
Across the street, fresh fruit, fast counter service with a Starbucks on premise.
Ohio and Dearborn, 2 short blocks away, very popular upscale breakfast spot.
Our area is awash in Steak Houses. Some of the best in the city are only a block or two away.
Smith and Wollensky
On the River at State St., 1 block away, Prime steaks, See Patrick at the downstairs bar.
Dearborn and Kinzie. Not just great prime steaks but Chef John Hogan’s magic touch.
Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse
Kinzie and Dearborn. Prime steaks and some of Harry's favorite Italian dishes, Chicken Vesuvio is fantastic.
Benny's Chop House
Wabash and Illinois, one block away. Prime steaks, clubby bar.
Dearborn and Grand, two blocks away. Prime steaks, lobster mashed potatoes, piano bar.
Ruth's Chris Steak House
Dearborn and Hubbard, just down the block. Prime "sizzling" steaks.

Miller 's Pub
Adams and Wabash, in the Loop. Great ribs for over 50 years, a Chicago tradition.
On State and Kinzie. Pour your own drafts, great looking restaurant & bar from our pals at Bull and Bear.
On Hubbard St. Popular place with a varied menu.
Corner of Hubbard and Dearborn. Spacious restaurant by the Melman boys, a hot spot for lunch and dinner.

Shaw's Crab House
Hubbard St., east of State St. This seafood pioneer is the only restaurant on Hubbard St that has been around longer than Mother Hubbard’s Sports Pub. Fresh, creative seafood and famous Oyster bar.
Devon Seafood Grill
Chicago and Wabash, 3 blocks away. Fresh seafood, just off Michigan Ave. Stop after you shop.

At State and Ontario, ( 1 1/2 short blocks) has a unique Italian small dish presentation. A very popular stop for both locals and visitors.
On 16th floor of Trump Tower. Great view and wonderful presentations.
If your tastes run to the exotic, Vermillion Restaurant directly across the street is a 4 star leader in Indian Cuisine.

Just down the block. Dueling Pianos, high energy, everyone has fun.
Another pioneer of Hubbard St. Great looking bar.
Around the corner on State St., The neighborhood dive bar and proud of it. Ask for Dennis, he always buys a drink.
Hubbard St.,east of State. Fairly new to the area but a warm place with good lunch sandwiches.

Contemporary Italian menu in a comfortable dining room with a high-energy tavern, Kinzie at Dearborn.
