Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas bombshell visited Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub while in Chicago. She enjoyed not only her company, but Mother Hubbard's hospitality as well. We welcomed her back anytime, but particularly in November when Chicago could use a little more hotness.
We get our fair share of celebs and sports icons at Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub, but it must be MLB week. There has been quite a number of Players stopping by Mother Hubbard's lately (and late!) The most recent was Chicago White Sox pitching ace , John Danks who stopped in recently for a late bite . He was in with a couple of the rival Seattle Mariners players who must remain nameless due to fraternization rules. John opted for the the old fashioned Mother Hubbards burger and a diet Coke. No, we don't have spy photos of how he gripped the burger!

Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub opens early to celebrate USA victory over Algeria.
Starbucks offers freeWIi Fi just 13 years after Mother Hubbards Sports Pub Chicago- ( Chicago Daily News )
In 1997 Mother Hubbards Sports Pub installed a free internet kiosk and then wireless WiFi. Before Boing , before any hotels and years before Starbucks offered their "pay" version of wi fi.
Mother Hubbards has offered Free Wi Fi continuosly for the last 13 years and was never down for even one day. International travelors knew to stop by MH because their hotels had not installed Internet service or only offered dial up.
Mother Hubbards is still the only place in Downtown Chicago to offer 22 satellite receivers so that every sporting event can be shown simultaneously on our over 50 giant screens, plasmas and LCDs.
Maybe it's the breakfast, maybe it's the excuse to have a cold draft beer early in the morning, or maybe it's just the fact that every game of the world's most watched sporting event (reminder: World Series = USA, Superbowl = USA, Daytona 500 = Sunbelt, World Cup = entire spinning orb) is being shown at Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub starting at 6:30 AM.
Yup, your boss is at the bar, with his tie loosened a bit to be sure, having breakfast, a cup of coffee and trying to remember how to say goooooooaaaaaaalllllll in Portuguese. If you want to impress him, join us! There are weeks of FIFA World cup matches to watch.
Blackhawk defenseman, number 4, Niklas Hjalmarsson, stopped by Mother Hubards Sports Pub last night (Sat). He was in a party mode. Niklas signed Mother Hubbards Blackhawk banner after draping it around himself and greeting many applauding fans. He was a class act. He spoke to everyone that approached him.
Mother Hubbard's owner, Kathy Fitzpatrick, celebrates the long overdue return of the Stanley Cup to Chicago, during a champion's welcome home on Hubbard St.
No word yet if Kathy and her favorite Blackhawks Player, Patrick Sharp, shared a sip of champagne from the cup.
On a recent trip to Chicago, Philadelphia Inquirer sports writer John Gonzalez visited Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub and experienced the friendly neighborhood feel and service that's made us famous for over 16 years.
"The beer there is served cold and quick, but that's just a pretense for delivering the establishment's best off-menu item: information. While enjoying a Goose Island Honker's Ale, I asked the bartender which deep dish pizza joint I ought to try. That seemingly simple question resulted in her calling over several waitresses, at which point they debated the finer points of Chicago-style pie for my benefit."

Seems that he discovered what locals, out of town visitors and nearby hotel concierges have know for years: Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub is the River North neighborhood's "Town Square". A place where locals gather, downtown workers unwind and visitors feel at home. Admittedly, we pride ourselves on being the one stop (or one call) source for all things sports related in Chicago, but we're just as happy to share thoughts and recommendations for all things Windy City.
Thanks for stopping in John! We look forward to discussing our favorite steak joints on your next visit. Oh, and no hard feeling. OK?

However, once every four years we have World Cup brackets. Click here to download your copy, fill them out with your buddies, and enjoy the sport that is the best kept secret only in America. Got a better name than World Cup Brackets? Let us know. Sorry, Soccer shelves and Futbol frames have already been submitted.

John Paxson and Gar Forman, the basketball brains behind the Chicago Bulls were seen huddling at Mother Hubbards Sports Pub last night. Who could they have been discussing?
Superbowl champion QB Jim McMahon visited Mother Hubbards Sports Pub recently with a group of Harry Caray's staffers. Champ was friendly and engaging telling old Bears stories and thrilling visitors who happened to pick this River North sports bar.
Bulls general manager, Gar Forman and his lovely wife Leslie have been spotted at Mother Hubbard’s Sports Pub with some frequency lately.
Initially, we thought that it was our chips, guac and friendly service that was drawing them back. Turns out is was our vast collection of sports memorabilia (along with the chips, guac and friendly service). They noticed that a particular piece of pre-championships Chicago Bulls memorabilia has been removed.
No worries Gar, the scoreboard will return someday. Much like William Randolph Hearst, Mother Hubbard’s Sports Pub rotates pieces from a vast collection of art. Except that rather than paintings from the masters and old world antiquities we have Bulls collectables, old fight posters and the worlds largest beer can collection.
Cubs coaches, Matt Sinatro and Iván DeJesús dropped by last Friday for a late night fix of our award-winning wings. Matt said he tried other wings over the off season but couldn't wait to get back to Mother Hubbard’s Sports Pub with his pal, Johnny Snickers for those giant Mother Hubbards wings.
B.B. King Guitarist Charles Dennis stopped by ’s Sports Pub after a recent show for a Traditional Chicago Dog, next stop Montana. Charles spent his first time at Mother Hubbards last Monday enjoying one of our delicious Hot Dog as the tour bus was loading up.
He gave some staff members some Authentic B.B. King guitar pics and we gave him some souvenir Mother Hubbard’s towels in return, one for Charles and one for B.B. King. Thank you Charles, our thrill will never be gone.
Brendan Hill, die-hard Traveler fans and House of Blues staffers filled Mother Hubbard's after a recent Blues Traveler show. A late kitchen, relaxed attitude and accommodating staff provide the right stuff to unwind after after a sold-out show.
Our friends at the brought the NHL Referees in to call the shots from our dining room tables last Friday night. They enjoyed the Sloppy Hockey "Joe" so much that our manager Alex, ever aware of a marketing opportunity, suggested they drop a Souvenir Mother Hubbard Hockey Puck at the Starting Face Off. We'll be reviewing tape to see how this product placement campaign is working out.
Stop in with friends, cheer on the Blackhawks and enjoy your own Sloppy Hockey Joe. Yup, you can get a souvenir puck too!
Charlie Bell, guard for the Milwaukee Bucks stopped by solo to face our Mother Hubbards thin crust pizza one on one. It wasn't long before Bell had H.O.R.S.E., that tasty thin crust never stood a chance!
Always the generous soul, he provided some tickets for the Bucks/Bull game at the United Center. Charlie had a great Mother Hubbard's experience, but I'm sure the lucky ticket recipient was just as happy reviewing his NCAA picks with an NBA pro and MSU alum.
Drew Stanton, back up QB for the Detroit Lions, dropped in last Friday night in the company of Jenner and Carra, two beautiful ladies who, being locals, vouched for Mother Hubbard's as being one of Chicago's best sports bars.
While enjoying some homemade Mother Hubbard's pizza, Drew, a Michigan State Alum and Lansing native, talked about MSU basketball and his trip back home to watch the Final Four. Drew and his friends expressed what a good time they and were sent on their way with with a green Mother Hubbard's Sports Pub towel in hope that it makes it's way into the stadium for the game.
